grinding sound

hello i have a 97 ford explorer sport.. 4x4 ..
oka the problem is when im comming to a stop just before i stop there is a grinding noise.. does anyone kno whar its coming from or what it could be ..

were do you hear the sound the most? front rear left right?

idk whare its the most it only does it just before the truck stops when i have the break in and when i let the break up...mostly when the break is in an jus about to stop..

if its when your stopping i would check your brakes asap the way it sounds you have no more brake pad left and its metal on metal. is your braking ability still good or is it not doing so hot?

oka i jus bought the truck its my first car the lady who owned it before me didnt take care of it so idk ..how the brakes r she said there was new front breaks idk about the back... but they do slow u down it starts making the noise jus before the truck stops.. and a lil sound when u let the break up..
