Over the past few days I've noticed that I've got a slight groaning noise and slight vibration between 65-75mph, most noticeable at 70mph. It does it at lower speeds as well, but just barely noticeable. It only does it when I leave off the throttle and coast. I believe it also does it even more around 90+mph, but I don't really like the idea of taking my Explorer above those speeds too often, doesn't do as well as my BMW ;)

I can't pick out where it's coming from, and it's doesn't seem to be isolated to a left or right turn like a wheel bearing would.

It's a 97 V8 AWD, 140k miles. Bought it at 100k with no service history documentation. Did upper ball joints and a sway bar link about 20k miles ago, that's about all I've had to do to the truck.

I just had new tires put on, that made no difference.
Checked front and rear diff fluid, it was clean and full.
Transfer case fluid was black, so I changed it to Mobil Synthetic ATF. Made no difference.

I'm going to check wheel bearings and u-joints tonight. Any other ideas of what to check?
