haha, someone please help

ok so i got a 92 ford explorer, automatic. my dash lights are weak and i wanted to add some color back there. so i bought some led's, and a white face. now my problem is i cannot get the damn needles off to get the face off the gauge cluster, i broke two trying. any help is needed. i also cant seem to get my hand behind the cluster to take it all the way out. do i need to remove the whole dash to do so. thankls

use a fork to get the needles off, just slide it behind and pull straight out,,

Also to get the unit out disconnect the Speedo cable from the tranny as it will give you a bit more room not much but in there every little bit helps. It is tight but I found leaning it to the right side and going in to it from the left helped in getting mine out. Now you could do it with out removing it but removing it helps you do a better job.
