Hello all, im new to the crowd. Names aj, and im bout to pick up a 94 xlt. Was curious as to what things to look out for replacing( any recalls or service actions?) for this year. Im getting a good deal on the truck so im looking into lift kits in the near future.

Thanks, Aj.

auto hubs....they are evil....

other than that, if it's an auto, makes sure you take care of it, it will take care of you....welcome to the site...

Im a carguy, really havent gotten into trucks till now, but whats the difference between auto, manual hubs? Also on a higher mileage truck( 133k on the clock) is it bad to put a lift kit on? also how hard is it to install, no harder than a coilover install?

I lifted mine when I was at probably 130k. The hubs WILL go out when you need them so I'd go to Warn Manuals ASAP. The difference will be you'd have to get out of your truck and turn (lock) the hubs, then it will act as the vehicle would normally by pushing the buttons on the dash to put it in 4WD, then unlock the hubs when you are done.

The tranny is another issue. Make sure you take care of it. I'm on my third.

when you add the manual hubs, does it #### up the autolocking? or do you still need to hit the button after locking the hubs? how big of a job is it?

You will have to lock the hubs before you put it in 4WD by pushing the button on the dash. Then you'll need to unlock them after you are done.

It took me about an hour to do both hubs.
