2000 Ford Explorer XLT
Hi all. New to forum. First post. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC 4WD. Purchased as "Certified Pre-Owned" from Hertz in 2001 with 25K miles. About to hit 170K miles (300 or so off-road). Runs strong. No problems. Not a drop of oil or fluid under it. Just routine maintenance. I would like to get some sort of hands-free cell phone kit. I am not a purist. This isn't a restore, just a respectably maintained reliable old vehicle. After market would be fine. Simple is better. Just has to work. Andy suggestions.

Thanx,

For my 98 I Just had a Kenwood installed with Bluetooth/USB port. $225 installed out the door.

Any base model of major manufacturer will work. I think install was $60 and the mic for the phone was placed nicely.

Now I'm looking to remove the 6 disk CD from the console to free up space.

Like Ionizer I replaced the factory unit. I am using a JVC digital media receiver with USB, AUX, Bluetooth, Pandora, and AM/FM. No CD player. I have removed the CD changer and enjoy having the extra space.
