ok i was searchign last night and i couldnt come up with an answer so it is time to ask you guys!!!!

well i had my tranny rebuilt on may 1st and since then i have had a hard shift from 1-2 and 2-3 always at the same spot right when i hit about 23mph and 50mph. i was told this was normal by the guy who rebuilt it but i dont remember the trans shifting like this when i bought it. he said this is normal because if it wasnt like this then there would be an issue with power.( which i dont really understand) I am completely clueless when it come to transmissions as i have never had to deal with this kind of a thing. What i need to know is what could it be that would be causing this and is this really normal??

thanks for all the help guys i really cant thank you guys enough for all the help!!!

How firm the transmission shift typically depends on how the rebuilder built it . "Shift Kits" and other valve-body/bands modifications also results in very firm shifts.

I have a rebuilt transmission in a '98 that also shifts very firm. On the other hand, my brother also has a rebuilt transmission on his '97 that shifts like butter.

Unless its really a violent shift that shakes the vehicle and the O/D OFF starts flashing, there probably isnt much to worry about.

well the vehicle doesnt shake but if almost lurches if that makes sense so is there a way to make them less harsh being as the other gears dont do that i just want to make sure i am not getting screwed here so sorry about the questions

What did the rebuilder do to the VB ?
