Hard starting 2.9L engine.

My ranger has developed a hard starting problem over the winter,smells rich after shutting off,cranks fast but acts like it is just not right,used to just touch the key and it was running.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the Ranger section. Check your fuel pressure regulator & ECT sensor.

the 2.9 mystery is solved

After some initial troubleshooting I have found the problem,I removed the vacuum line from the gas pressure regulator and gas trickled out then i replaced the regulator and all is well ,a lesson well learned.
