Everytime i get gas, either fill or put in $25-$40 it doesnt want to start. Finally when it does it idles really rough. Then one i start moving it barely wants to drive, almost like someone bagged the crap out of the truck and its going to die. It does that for about 1-2 kms then its normal. Seems like gas is maybe going into something else. Ive had nothing but problems with this ST since i bought it in Feb 2013, even thought i love my truck and its perfect for me, i definitely have some regrets buying it at this point with all the repairs i have done/have to do

Has anyone else have problems with their ST when they get gas?

mines running fine, its an 05 with 122k miles did it have regular service done with the previous owners,? you might wanna check the fuel line for leaks and see if you can smell gas coming out when you do start up.

I bought mine from a ford dealership who claim it had regular maintenance and $3000 front end work(ball joints etc. never been in a accident). When i bought it , it had a broken windshield and it was freshly safetied but they wanted $500 to fix it (it wouldnt pass safety where the crack was) i ended up buying a new one from ford for $100 and getting my bf to install it.
I had some bad clunky noise coming from it and the stabilizer links were bad so i confronted ford and they denied me and said because i live in the city it was from our roads(again, this doesnt pass safety..). also when i looked at the truck it was in immaculate condition and i picked it up at night the next day and drove it home. looked at it as soon as i got home and someone ( assuming from the dealership) hit it and now i have a huge scrape on the side which they wont fix. Now i have this gas problem and my brakes just went and i cant drive it because they are shot plus i just changed my sway bar bushing because those were messed up too and i still need a upper control arm along with other things wrong with the vehicle.

I dont recall being able to smell any gas when i start it but i never really payed attention to that. Im just worried that this is going to be an expensive repair since im already having to dish out a bunch of money on stuff that should have been fixed when they safetied the vehicle(especially coming from a dealership )

wow a lot of stuff broke overnight, between you paying for the truck and picking it up.
I'm surprised you paid for something and left it for other people to break.
Personally I take anything I buy with me right away, if the excuse is insurance/registration, get it beforehand, or hire a tow truck.

I had the EXACT same problem with my '05 a few months back. No Ck Engine Light, just would not easily start after fueling up. I had to hold the gas pedal to get it to start. Bottom line is, for me it was the fuel vapor purge valve. It is loacted in the engine compartment just behind the battery, between the battery and the relay/fuse box. I was able to change it myself, and I am not machanical. Not very expensive eiher. Got mine from rockauto.com. See this web page for a better description: http://www.professionalfleet.com/la...ehicle_will_not_start_after_filling_with_fuel

Yup tell me about it! And not to mention when my brakes went I got a flat in my mustang so both my vehicles weren't drivable. Plus I need door hinges which apparently is expensive but it's wrecking my paint and doors.

I had to pick it up the next day because the banks were closed and I needed a certified cheque. I should have looked at it twice! Atleast I can get employee pricing from ford so that really helps

I'm hoping its something simple. I'm going to have to see If it's that fuel vapor valve. I'm hoping ford will have it since I want to get this fixed ASAP
