We have an '05 Explorer 4wd, 6 cyl. Love the truck. About 42k miles at this point.
However, our driveway is pretty sloped, and sometimes it has been hard to shift out of park (if the truck is left only in park without the parking brake engaged). It just feels like the shifting mechanism is grinding to get it out of park.
Fast forward to now, and it is getting harder to shift when the truck is parked on level ground.
Is there anything I can do with this? I'm very mechanically capable, however, have never worked on anything newer than some pretty old stuff and motorcycles, and honestly, I have NO idea about working on auto trannies.
<Oh, and I moved this thread because I think it is a better fit here than where I first posted it>
