Hello all, I have a 2007 ford explorer that is stuck in park. I changed the circuit board in shift console. This didn't change anything. I also checked the brake clamp, seems to be working fine, unless I'm missing something. The solenoid for the brake clamp is stroking fine as well. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all eyes. This is an automatic transmission

I checked all that could cause this to occur. After extensive trouble shooting I crawled under car applied a wrench to linkage, while the owner sat in the car with her foot on the brake, pushing release switch and gently pulling. It popped free with minimal force. Turns out she has been parking on a hill just using the shifter to park. The pawl is probably grooved. Thanks for your assistance. Sometimes it's the simplest things that consume the most time.
