My 03 Sportrac is hard to start after refuelling. It takes about 5 seconds of cranking the started to get going after refuelling. But normally starts within the first second.
Is the gas tank pressurized? When the Sportrac was brand new, I had another fuel problem. It was impossible to fill up without the gas tank regurgitaing large amounts of fuel. It seemed like a fuel tank vent was missing or clogged up. The dealer had no idea how to fix it, so a mechanic not from ford took a look at it and told me he put holes in some kind of air filter in the vent. This fixed the regurgitating problem, but Could this be the culprit for the hard starting after refuelling problem I now have (4 years later)?
