Hard to start second time

Explorer starts easily 1st time second time hard to start pump gas several times to start second time changed plugs they were bad didn't change wires.

Welcome to this forum! I assume that you were stepping on the throttle pedal while cranking it? Pumping the pedal prior to starting only works for carburetors since they store gasoline. Did you replace the fuel filter? What kind of spark plugs did you use? The spark plug cables might be bad.
