I've got the hard tonneau cover on my Sport Trac. The edge trim that wraps around the tonneau has been slowly slipping off.

I don't see any adhesive residue, but I cannot imagine it was just pressed on either. I'm thinking of dripping some sort of glue into base of the trim piece, then pushing the trim back onto the tonneau. Does anybody have a better fix.

I just used some clear bathroom caulk. I used the type that cleaned up with water and it worked great. The weight if the topper keeps it in place.

mustang6878 Thanks did you apply it into the bottom of the trim?

I like the idea of being able to wipe off any excess. Did your clear caulk squeeze out, and need to be wiped off?

I'm thinking that in the winter when any water gets inside the trim freezes, and cause the trim to pull away.

Yes, I put it inside the trim and then just pushed it into place. A little bit goes a long way, so don't overdo it!

I did mine 6 years ago when I first go my Trac, and it still is as good as new. No worries about cold weather and rain either...we get all kinds of weather here in Iowa. Good Luck!

Got a follow up question. I tried the caulk on my 2005 Sport Trac hard tonneau cover edge molding. It has worked for about 1 1/2 years, but is falling off again. I have completely removed the molding, and cleaned out all the old caulking. I'm thinking that the water seeping into the top seam, and the winter freeze thaw cycles caused the molding to pull away from the tonneau cover.
Anybody have any other suggestions ?

Black RTV. Use a turkey injector for deep frying. Cut end of needle off. Fill with RTV Sealant. Apply into channel. Assemble.

I did this fix to my newly purchased '07 Sport Trac yesterday. I did one half with RTV Silicone into the molding channel and the other half onto the lip and then slid the molding on it. I want to see which fix holds up better over time. It's nice that I don't have keep putting sections back on when I open it and at looks nice to see straight lines when it is closed. Now looking for the best fix for the rubber over the middle hinges which is cracking.
