I have an '06 XLT and would like to get rid of the ugly green dash lights. Has anyone done this, and how hard is it? TIA.

I'm wondering the same thing. I have a light out so I need to get in there to change it.

My good friend changed all his dash lights/gauge cluster/indicators in his S14 240 to led bulbs. I've been wanting to do this to my truck but idk how and I'm not ready to just start tearing my dash apart when I don't know what I'm doing.

I have some dash lights out on my XLT as well....Anyone know how to do this...?

The cluster can be taken out with just 8 screws. Comes out in less than 10 min. The green isn't actually the light, it is the color of the film covering that portion where the light shines through. In order to change its color you'd have to change the color of the actual film on the speedometer. Putting an led would make it slightly brighter but wouldn't do much to change the color.

Instrument Cluster Light Bulb Replacement

Here is a great video posted on youtube that I found. I need to replace 2 or 3 bulbs myself and thinking of using led's instead of the actual replace 194 bulb. has anyone used led's? I have a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT.

Need to post this in the 1995 - 2001 modified explorer forum page. This is the 2006-2010 one. I can tell you that LED's will be brighter in the dash but not by much and they will only be able to change the dash color if you either remove the film that the light projects through or if you get a clear cluster and install colored lights.
