I think many members have tried these or similar. Many like them but also many others have melted their light housings and lenses

scroll down to the bottom of the page. They are 50 watt halogens to replace the OEM reverse lights on 91-99 Explorers.

I love mine and have had no problem. THey are available at Pep Boys, and maybe AutoZone for less, though.

I think I paid about $14 for the pair.

Since the reverse lights are rarely on, I would hope they would not melt the lenses.

If I got aux lights, and mounted them below the bumper, I'm sure I would destroy them sooner or later.

I recently found some magnetic aux lights at Walmart. They come with a cig plug but you could easily wire them up to a relay and switch. I have one stuck on my rear roof as an aux backup light and it works great!

Hey that's a good idea. I'll chk it out next time I'm over there.

i got similar reverse lights to those, mine are 60 watt xenon lights made by the hyper industries, and they are bright enough to see through my limo tint. i picked them up off ebay for about $15 and it was worth it :D
