I have a 1994 XLT and this morning, first time ever, I had to pump the gas pedal to get it to start. Once it warmed up it was fine. Just tried it at lunch and the same problem. Just yesterday I added so fuel system cleaner. Could it be the cleaner or does it sound like something else?

One of the IAC's jobs is the no touch start. Another job is to bring up the idle when its cold.
Soo, if the issue is you have to hit the gas to get it to start, and to keep it running until warm, I'd expect the Idle air Controller is bad.

Its a cylindrical thing on the driver side of the upper intake. It has 2 bolts holding it on with a wire/plug harness.

If your really lucky you may be able to clean the IAC enough to make it work for a while longer.

I second Mark's logic. The truck is fuel injected, no priming needed under normal conditions.

It wouldn't start this morning, so I had to take my Focus. It's pouring so I can't work on it anyway. Now the Focus check engine light went on. You guys probably never would, but just in case DO NOT USE 99 Cent Store Fuel Injection cleaner. Used it in both, and both have problems now.
