I would not waste my money on either. Get a Ford Factory manual, it's MUCH better than other generic manuals. eBay has them on CD for pretty good prices. Search for "Ford CD" and you should see them.

Yea, I did a search on manuals and found the thread on the Ford Factory Service CD. I found one on Ebay for 15.00 from the seller mentioned in the posts. Thanks fo the info

The books......
Which is better depends on you and your level of experiance. How dirty do you want to get your knuckles?
The Haynes manual is designed for the simple do it yourselfer. It has some good information, just not to detealed. It is written on about a 4th grade level so it is easy to understand. Available at Autozone.
The Chiltons manuel is a more detailed version of the Haynes. Written on about an 8th grade level. Most novice mechanic types preferred the Haynes beacuse it was easier to read. I grew up using this manual and loved it. Available at O'rileys?
The Factory books. The best most detailed information you can get. Will tell you everything and also a lot you did not want to know. The books themselves are expensive, almost double or triple the cost of Haynes, unless you find them on e-bay as mentioned. Then you can get a deal.
So you have 3 flavors to choose from, pick the one that suites you best.

The factory CD is the best. Picked mine up for 12.50 =sh on ebay. Would you believe some two idiots bid the cd up to $61?
