Hi Rebecca,

Is there any plan to improve the robustness of the Hazard button to IGNORE a user's unintended finger press when operating the MFT screen? If it's touch-sensitive, could it be reprogrammed to need a continuous press of say... 3 seconds or whatever makes sense??

I assume this may require an OBD fix, rather than MFT / Sync - but would really be interested to know if Ford is looking to improve this.

Thanks!

Yep, that has been a concern since day one. In very early threads on this forum you'll find much discussion on it. As there hasn't been much chatter on it lately, my guess is that most of us get used to it. And I'm thinking not that we are getting used to setting off the hazards, but rather adjusting our movements so as not to set it off.

Your gripe is valid. I used to find it very bothersome. But honestly, after driving my 2011 for some time now, i very rarely (and i mean Rarely) set it off. Give it some time and you'll become very adept at it.

What gets me the most is, you can turn on the hazards with just a slight brush of your hand, but it takes freaking 20 seconds of holding it with a finger to shut it off; okay, slight exaggeration but still....

+1 to at least putting a delay in. I've accidentally "brushed" the button and turned the hazards on a dozen times by now.

I've had my 2012 for almost a month now and have accidently turned on the hazards over a dozen times :/ Would be nice to have some delay.

I thought this was going to be a major problem for me but it turned out not to be.

Ford even added a warning to the 3rd print revision of the owners manual.

Thy should address it.

In the week I've owned the car I've done it a handful of times...
