Head Unit Question

I was trying to put in a new head unit today and I have to premium sound system in my explorer and didn't have the right wireing harnis and so I was putting it back together and two wires broke off were they bend to go into the thing that you plug into the back of your factory unit and so I drove all over town looking for the new pices and coulded find one. so me and my cousin soldered it together and it worked but it stays on all the time now and not when the car turns on and off it some how got hooked up with the dome light fuse so it is always hot now so I was just asking you thought

sounds like he wired the constant 12v and the switched 12v together......

...Or reversed. The fuse would blow if the two were wired together.

It sounds like you got the two power wires mixed up. Try reversing them, and it should work. One wire is always on- that is for the radio memory.The other wire comes on only with the ignition.
 






Easy to fix... change the wires and make sure no solder is touching from one wire to the other
