I'm hoping someone will either verify or clarify something 4 different los angeles based dealership parts department don't have a clue on. On the '16 & '17 models the headlamps are designated with varying levels (i.e.level 2, level 5, level 7). There is also a control module that goes with the headlamp. I'm looking for clarification on what exactly the different levels describe. My '16 XLT calls for level 7 headlamp and a control module with level 2, 5, 6, 7 reflect design. Best I've been able to ascertain is that if you were to tow something or God forbid actually put two people in that third row seating, the ass end of the vehicle is going to sit down thus causing the headlights to raise up and not be properly positioned on the road. So the lights level out to the proper position and this is ford's crude way of designating it. What I'd like to know is what is the difference between a level 2 and level 7 headlamp? Because there sure is a price difference. And it's of concern to me because Wondries Ford in Alhambra, California has a collision center. Which at the time I left my car I felt quite confident they knew what they were doing due to the 10 or so LAPD Explorer's they work on monthly. Replaced one headlamp level 2 and the other level 7. This issue is only one of many, and due to my charm and grace dealing with these idiots, I no longer have dialogue with them. So, if anybody can please dial me in a little bit better on an explanation, here's an atta boy for ya! Thank you and be blessed in what you do!
