Headlamp trouble!!

I have a 03 explorer limited when i try to adjust my headlights the rod keeps spinning and the lights just stay aimed they same any ideas as to why this happens and if i need to replace the whole headlight?

I don't have experience with the 3rd gens headlights, but I had a similar issue on a previous vehicle, the adjuster was someho broke and stripped, the only solution was to replace the housing since it was all one unit.

Hopefully that's not the case for you though. Hopefully a 3rd gen owner will chime in with a definitive answer.
