headlight autoshut off

i dont know a thing about explorers my friend has a 98 and she says that the headlights stay on for 5 mins after turning off the lights and truck this really is a problem for her and i would like to know if there is a way to stop this from happening or if she just has to deal wirth it. thank you for any help in this area.

Welcome to the forum, Mr Shookbait.

There's a timer control on the rear view mirror that controls the headlight on duration. It's a slide switch. Have her push it all the way to the left, to have the lights go off immediately with the switch.
