Just the other night I fell victim to a random act of suicidal wildlife. In short I hit a deer with my 96 Aerostar and ended up with some damage to the front end (images below). The only consolation is that I'm getting between 35-40 lbs of meat from that 8 point buck. The other meat & the rack went to the "kid" who showed up on scene to make sure I was alright.

I have been wanting to convert over to some of either a projector beam or crystal style headlight headlights but I'm not sure as to the exact dementions of the lamp assembly or if there are any other ford trucks/vans that used the same size headlights. I sure don't want to get one of the aftermarket ones where the bulbs are part of the assembly and can't be "replaced". I currently have HID's and want to stay with them.

If anyone has any information on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance. :aerostar:

There are many replacement assemblies on EBay. Some vendors on this site sell them too. The housing is separate from the bulb which plugs into it. You will need the parking light frame, parking light lens assembly, HID bulb, turn signal bulb, radiator grille, and the actual square headlight assembly. The fender has two plastic inserts for the two screws. You could also use a replacement bumper cover with the metallic trim insert. The lower trim under the bumper appears to be intact. The fender could be bent back into place, then touched up with paint.

OK, got the grill, fender, headlight assembly, headlight door w/parking light assembly replaced. I still need to get the bumper re-enforcement and the bumper cover and I've had some good luck online locating the parts, now it's just a mater of the money for said parts.

I got lucky with the HID bulb, it survived the hit.

I'm dealing with yet another issue as far as performance so I'm gonna go thru the form and see what I can find before starting a thread on it. Either that or find one of my previous threads where I made an inquiry about the issue.

Got the parts at a "scrap yard" who deal with only Fords. Did the work myself, took about and hour or so to do the change out.
Paid around $160.00 for everything.
