The left headlight on my X is kind of fogged and has condensation on the inside of the lens. If I remove it and replace or try and clean it will I have to have the headlight Re-calibrated?

Not sure about a 98, but on my 00 they told me (dealer) it cannot be torn apart. It's one solid unit. If you did, it would be a PITA to put back together. New one's are about $100. Not sure about the alignment issue afterwards, most likely so.

well,,,,,
if you remove it correctly no it does not need to be reaimed.
That being said removing it is not exactaly a cake walk.
It is a lenz and body. Meaning the clear plastic lenz the light shines through is bonded to the plastic backing that the bulb plugs into. These two parts are not meant to be taken apart, and should not be taken apart. Believe me it will just make matters worse.

The '98 headlight can be removed once you remove the marker light bezel around it and the lens is glass. I can get a new lens for $73 but I don't want to mess with the calibration. If it can be done easy I would replace it.

What if I just took the housing off and put a paper towel through the bulb opening and scrubbed around the inside?

okay
suit your self.
