Who is happy with their Ebay one piece headlight replacements? Need some fast

They seem to be of simmilar quality to the other aftermarket units that I have seen at shows and such. Honestly I think that they are all coming from the same OEM, just with different features like the CCFL rings instead of the LED lit rings.

In short, they are not Ford OEM quality construction, but pretty close. The beam pattern is much better than our factory headlights, not quite as good as a factory projector. They do have a bit of scatter over the cutoff line, but the cutoff lie is very well defined. They are definatly better illumination on low and high beam than our factory headlights. I will probably do a fine tune to the headlight adjustments tonight and take some pictures of the illumination. Then post them up tomorrow.

That is the answer I was looking for-they are way bettern than stock

As far as I can tell the lens does not have a colored coating on them.

Hey i'm thinking about changing my headlights as well. I've been looking around on ebay and also amazon. I have a red 99 explorer xlt and am debating between this particular style. But unsure whether to get the clear lens or black lens. Any suggestions? Does anyone have this style installed on their 2nd gen? I'm leaning towards the black one myself.

So i guess no one has tried these type of lights. I just want to know if they are any good or not?

Sorry, I didn't notice your post. I have the black version on my truck right now and they are horrible. The OEM housings are so much better it isn't even funny. Plenty of light come out, but the beam pattern is junk. I've had them on here for several months now, and I'm probably just gonna toss them in the trash next month and try some other headlights instead.

Probably shouldn' toss them in the trash, thoes are exactly the right housings to put the OEM projectors in.

I would like to see a photo anyways with how they look on your vehicle..

Pic of it when I got the truck.

Could have gotten the EXACT same thing on ebay for a little more than half that price. Same manufacturer and everything.

I would strongly recomend upgrading to some relays for running the lights. You can also put a diode in so the low beams stay on when you put the high beams on.

If thoes are the CCFL rings (not the LED rings) then I dont think you can get them for less than $200 on Ebay with the HID kit.

If you have the same experience I have had you will not be dissapointed. The ones I have are just eh Halogen H1's are allot better than any stock headlights I have experienced.

"FIND" I am confused. Are you talking about the new headlight housings are junk, or the ones that are on there in the picture? I'm thinking about getting the black ones off ebay with the LED and the rings. So just wondering which ones you were calling junk? Because if the ones with the 2 rings and LED are junk, I won't order them!

Also noticed your SD license plates! I'm from Rapid City :) just thought I would throw that in there lol!

Are you sure these are the exact same ones on ebay? I did a lot of resarch and always compare on ebay for costs. the new ones come with a six month warranty too.

Most of the ones on ebay came with the H1 bulbs.

Fairly certain, though the HID kits are probably better quality. Also, it is nice to get the warranty, which not a lot of the ebay sellers offer. So I guess on that measure, it is worth a bit more. Especially since as all car guys know, defects are common on aftermarket appearance items. Oh well, I don't think you will be disappointed FWIW. The beams on those don't look bad using halogens as far as I've seen, and most guys that have HIDs in them are happy... though, I'm not one to put HIDs in a halogen headlamp, even if it is a projector.

I was talking about the black headlight housings that someone else was asking about, just like the ones on my truck. They are junk unless you need headlamps for an HID projector retrofit. And if that is the case, they are the best things you can buy. Cheap and a clear lens, easy to take apart for retrofit.

Also, nice to meet you, I'm in Vermillion, but I'm thinking about moving out west sometime next year. I've been looking at the rapid area a lot, because the boys and I like the outdoors so much, otherwise Pierre, which puts me 3 hours from everything and in the middle of nowhere, but in the capital, where there are plenty of cushy state jobs.

I called and spoke to one of the tech support guys. Asked him to educate me on LED vs CCFL and he said that is for the rings (which I am not concerned about) I am interested in being able to see well at night- he told me that he got the 6000 HID for his 78 year old father last year and he has no problems seeing any more.

I also read really positive reviews on these on other boards-people were really happy with this company. After reading, searching and talking to them I felt better about ordering this part. I did not have as much of a comfort level with the "generic" items on ebay. These are also plug and play, which was one of my requirements

If at all possible, if you are interested in the best seeing and least eyestrain at night, you should switch your order to 4300k bulbs.

Personally i'm not looking for the brightest lights. I'm just looking for the best looking and does the job. I would be happy with the ones i seen on ebay. I also seen about the same thing on amazon for about the same price including the shipping. I don't really like the ones you bought Bigham. I'm sure their bright but i just don't like the way they look. To each his or her own i guess.

I mean they are great lights but i just don't like the projector look myself.

the funny part about my research was that most people really cared that they looked "cool" or "different" and no one mentioned how they worked at night or showed night time pictures. Almost everyone had pics of the lights during the day that did not help one bit.

Bronchole: what type of relays would I need for the lights? Is this different then what is include with the kit?
