headlight switch light?

both my personal 98, and my work's 01, and 00 ranger have headlight switches that do not light up. i read on another thread here however that says they do. are they suposed to? (i'm talking about the little black circle indicators around the knob.

Mine don't... but that doesn't say much.

They light up. Do a search and you will find how to get at the tiny bulb. Then you will either go for it or wait for more stuff to burn out.
