My headlight switch on my 1991 Explorer keeps blowing. When it goes you need it half way between the park lights and the head lights to get anything to come on at all. Could this be because i have my fog lights hooked up to my park lights??? Does anyone have any suggestions??? Thanks.

The fog lights are probably drawing too much current through the switch, thus melting it down inside:(

Has it been doing this since you installed the fogs, or just recently? I agree that it's probably the fogs. You could've also fried the wiring. It may have taken some time to fry the circuits just right, and now the circuits are so bad they keep blowing the switch.

I've had the fog lights on for about a year now and it's only been happening lately. It blow about every month and a half or so.

i had the same problem in my 93 and all it took was cleaning the harness/plug that goes into the switch and making sure all of the contacts were seated properly. Mine has worked for about 3 months now.
