Hey All!

I replaced the blend door actuator in my 2003 Ex back in Sept. Seemed like there were no problems with it at the time. Recently I've noticed that when switching fan speeds, the heat will start to get cold. When I use either 1 or 2, the heat stays warm, when I use 3 or 4, it gets cold. I'm not hearing the famous clunking sound from the blend door, so I don't think that could be the problem. The speed increases and decreases as it should, it just goes cold on 3 and 4. Any ideas?

This is a guess, but I'm thinking the higher fan speed is some how closing your blend door over to the cold side of the system. The force of air against it. Maybe your blend door itself is beginning to fail since you already changed the actuator to it. I ruled out the air recirculation door" issue because that only blocks the flow of air from the blower thru your vents, but doesn't keep you from getting hot temps into the vehicle.
