heat not getting hot

hey guys i did the blend door fix but my heat still doesn't get hot it changes from warm to cold as you turn the dial, but in the heat position it doesn't get very hot just kinda warm what could be the problem, also no matter what setting i switch to the air only comes out of the defrost and floor nothing comes out of the vents what could cause this?????

A vacuum(is that how you spell it?) problem can cause your vent selector to default to defrost and your heater valve to not work. Vac problems are fun and easy to fix.

ok river rat what are the first steps i should take to fix this problem? please be detailed as possible, thanks

locate the vacuum reservoir. check for vac here. Look to see if it's damaged. From there follow the vac hose into the cabin. You'll have to drop the glove box and pull the a/c control panel get to the hoses.

Sometimes you can quickly locate leaks by using a vac pump and listening for the leak.

I had a problem in mine. On accel the airflow would go to defrost. Turned out to be a restriction in the hose behind the a/c control panel.

A vac gauge helps troubleshoot problems like this.

It could be a plugged heater core.

As far as the heat not getting very hot, have you changed your thermostat lately? An old thermostat that is stuck open can cause the vehicle to not reach proper operating temp and give you luke warm air at the vents.

flush the radiaotr completely... I mean get it running clear water throguht the system... and check the thermostat... then put in a new 50/50 mix
