the heated mirors usually works with teh same switch as the back defrost..at least miw works that way..

Do you have a digicam? I'd like to see what a "north face" model looks like. Knowing Ford, it's probably a repacked Eddie Bauer edition. Cheers and all that then.

From what I understand it's just an upscale trim level like EB or Limited, packaged a bit differently and named North Face; Europe only.

Yeah, it looks exactly the same as the '99-'01 Limited models with the 5-spoked Limited rims. Other differences includes non-privacy glass, no auto temp controls nor trip computer, and of course, floor shifter. I think that's about all the difference between the US Limited and UK North Face.

yeah it's v similar to the limited you have in the states. colour choices were charcoal green (mine is this colour), medium platinum grey, chestnut or black. i don't think they did any other colours on the north face. the steering wheel is the standard explorer grey rather than the multi function type on the ltd. pretty much as '96 has said. (r/hand drive of course)

My '97's mirrors do not seem to be working (if they are fitted) Does anyone know of an easy way to tell if I really do have heated mirrors - they are powered but I have been unable to see any difference when running the heated rear screen in icey conditions. As various things electrical in nature are not present on all market variants could this be something else that we in the UK don't get?

I know that on mine it actually says "heated" on the bottom corner of the side mirrors.

And for some reason i never have to turn on the rear defroster to get the sides to heat up. They just do it themselves it seems like.
