Gen 2 Heated Mirrors

Anyone have these? Where is the switch located?

I see them for sale on e-bay all the time and am wondering if I can retro them to my 98.

I'm not really sure what turns them on and off, whether they come on with the defrost or what but more than likely the wiring for the heaters is already there. even if it isnt it wouldnt be all that hard to figure out which wires are for the heating element and wire them up to a seperate switch.

Mirror Switch

They are switched to come on with the rear window de-foger/de-icer. I think the wiring will automaticlly be there if you have rear de-fog/de-ice........."pear"

My 93 Limited had six wires in the door, while a normal mirror I installed had only a four wire connector. I bet that they aren't in the door. Hopefully they are in the door jamb. Good luck,

The other 2 wires were probably for the heater.. I bought those mirrors on eBay and wired the heater wires to my rear defogger. Used a multimeter to find the switched-on power wire and spliced it.
