I am in process of changing the coolant hoses on my 2000 Ford Ranger 3.0L 2WD with A/C, and I am having a hard time finding the hose assemblies for the heater core. I know I could get them at the local dealer, but they are very high at $160 for the set.

Has anybody put those hose assemblies together by buying the hoses, T connectors and clamps? Is that what I probably should do?

There are no fittings at the end. It is just the hose attached to the water pump/engine block connector on one end and attached to the water heater on the other end. All is held in place by clamps.

I inspected the hoses I currently have closely and decided I will keep them for now. What I thought was a problem with the hose was is fact a build-up of rust inside of the hose.
