was wondering if i could get some learned opinions on this issue. I have just had the timing chains replaced in my 98' Explorer only to find when i got it home that the heater is on nearly all the time now, the a/c worked fine before and now it cuts in and out like its low on gas. the only time it doesnt blow hot air is when i turn the dial in the dash to max a/c. Would this be a problem with the blend door? i found the vacuum hose to the hot water shut off valve at the front was cracked through, but have repaired that. Seems strange that it worked before the engine was out but not now. Doesnt seem to matter what position the hot/cold knob is in, just blasts hot air. i bypassed the low pressure switch for the a/c just then and it doesnt cut in or out, so its low on gas now, but will that effect the blend door if it is that?
UPDATE* just checked the vacuum operated hot water shut off valve thats at the front of the motor, it only seems to operate(close) on max a/c, is that correct operation?
