I tried to install a ford oem nav system, but the unit didn't fit my car and it wasn't programmed properly so I was not able to use all of my features. I removed the unit and plugged all the heating cooling switches back in ( i have the one with 3 dials) and I plugged my cd unit back in.

The cd unit works fine but the heating and cooling system now has a problem. For some reason air only comes out of the windshield area and above the ducts on the left and right side of the car ( i think its the defogger) on every setting of the dial, the left dial does change the intensity properly ( 1-2-3-4) and the middle controls the temp properly, just the far right seems to be malfunctioning.

The middle ducts underneath the radio don't work at all either, and I unplugged the far right dial and verified everything was proper before replugging and still no fix.

Any ideas?

Maybe one of the connectors came out while you were putting the faceplate back in. I did the nav upgrade a couple months ago and almost had that happen. One of the connectors came loose just as I was putting it all back together.

Hey Anti, send that unit my way and I will see if it works in mine. :)

hey bill,

looks like this sync system didnt have the right connectors or something.

Also its not programmed for my line in port.

I think it was just my car ( 07 XLT) and it not being compatible with this system.

When I bought it I thought it was from an expedition but apparently it shows a cars picture when playing music, but starts up with a Ford logo?

Oh wow sound like it came out of an 09 or 2010 I dont have sync in my XLT. Weird. You gonna try and figure out the wiring? Kinda sounds like you may have a bum unit too?

Im selling the unit now. I think it was just the wiring that has the issue because there were 2 empty slots ( of wires) on the sync system as my stock radio only had one big connector one small and the am/fm antenna wire.

Mine has 3 plugs, the third is for the Sat radio.

Your cd unit or nav unit?

My cd unit has the aux button which triggers sat 1 sat 2 line in but there is only 2 plugs on the back of the unit.

Weird, I got 3 plugs, and from the wiring diagram I have the big one is is the speaker outs, the one next to it is is MS Can A&B with Stereo in's and Mono in's for phone. Then the one to the far corner next to the Antenna is the one that goes to my Sat unit. I dont have a nav unit either.

@bill, my wiring is definitely wrong then. This new sync system must require a different setup of the wires, which explains the issues I was having.

@adrnlnrush, I threw it up on ebay if you wanna bid.
