hey guys, I am wondering about rear leaf springs on my '95 XLT. It needs new springs and when i replace them, i want stiffer ones and a little lift. I will have a heavy sound system in the back (400lbs or so) and i pull a fiberglass bass boat and I also have a hitch mount cargo tray deal i sometimes have a couple hundred pounds on.

So, is there a spring from something else that i can use in place of the stocker? Should i just get new stock leafs, "AALs" ad then just add a couple leafs from my old springs or...? Thanks in advance guys!

I put a new set on 2 years ago. I got a new 4 leaf that fit 91-94 4 dr. Explorer They are rated at 250 lbs above stock 95-01 explorer. I have hauled 600 lbs of brick and did not drop more than an inch. They do not change the ride height. The stock 95-01 are lighter and have a high arc. 91-94 are heavier but less arc. There are many companies that make replacement springs. You could have a set made with a higher arc or a heavier over load leaf.
