Hello Everyone, let me say I'm glad that I found this site. I'm the proud owner of a 1999 Ford Ranger that I 'love dearly'.
I'm currently a student @ MTSU majoring in Aerospace(although not sure which field yet). Since finding the site I've learned some things about my truck which I'd never have known and have already saved a few $$$ thanks to some help I've gotten on here.
Now, I'll also ask a few questions since I've introduced myself. First, I plan on doing some body/paint work this summer. Basically the truck was wrecked in the front end a few years ago & the hood and driver side fender were repainted. Well after these years it is beginning to fade and looks unsightly and awful. I was planning on taking the truck to an body shop to get painted, but figured why not try it myself. I have all the proper equipment, safety and mechanical to do so. The color is more of a burnt orange but I figured I'd do the fender just to be safe and if that came out good then to the hood. I do understand sanding and priming will be needed also, but would/do most of you recommend I go this route.
And second, after I get done with the paint I plan on doing so lighting/exterior mods. I actually want to put some 01 & up headlights on there, but would that be a direct fit or require some body work? Also would the 01 & up taillights work or would it be as previous? I just really prefer the newer style headlamps and taillights however I'm perfectly fine with the factory taillights but must say I'll either do projector headlights or either a swap, any suggestions or tips?
Thanks and hope to contribute somewhat....
