- 2008 Mountaineer
I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Chris. I grew up in the northern Chicago suburbs. After several years of living around the country, while in the Navy, I settled in Plano, TX.
I've been a Ford man all my life. My previous vehicles were a 1965 Mustang, 1971 Mustang, 1991 Taurus Wagon, 1997 Explorer Sport, 1998 Contour, 2004 Sable Wagon (still own), and now a 2008 Mountaineer. I admit I strayed a bit in the late 70's and 80's, but as you can see, I quickly returned to the straight and narrow.
I've been lurking here for a couple of years and have learned quite a bit. Many of your posts have helped me tremendously. Like how to clean your MAF and IAC, how to change your tailgate gas struts, and what replacement shocks were the best.
I recently sold my 97 Explorer Sport (it was a sad day) to buy my new 08 Mountaineer. I hope the new owner of my Sport realizes and appreciates how much time and effort went into caring for that thing throughout the years. However, I am loving my new Mountaineer more and more each day.
I will shortly make my first post on the Explorer Forum. Please excuse me if it is a little simple. But at this point, I'm just trying to figure out where things are and how they work when compared to my 97 Sport.
