Hello and thanks for welcoming me aboard. I own a 96' Eddie Bauer edition 4x4with a bit of front-end damgage and bald tires. I luv it! I'm going to be taking a trip soon and my heater only intermittantly works. Most of the time it blows cold. I checked the heater-core and everthing is fine there. The heater control valve opens and closes just fine too. Are there any issues with the heating systems on these year explorers or is this an issue with all explorers in general? Sounds like the Blend Door problem, and welcome to the site!!

do a search above for "Blend Door" and you will see what I am talking about.

Welcome to this forum! The blend door is the usual problem. Sometimes it could be the heater control valve.
