Just a quick intro post. My name is Kevin. I found this site while researching the 5R44e transmission and asking some conversion questions on the TurboFord website.
I've been thinking about the possibilty of trying to mate a fully electronic auto trans to the Ford Lima block in my XR4TI.
Lots of old A4' s and C-3's have been on the Merkurs, SVO's and or T-birds but those were notoriously weak, so when I started reading that it may be possible to beef one up via the 4r or 5r internals, I started to get curious.
Someone pointed me to the Frankentranny project which was a pretty darn good read.
That is a few years old now and I'm now curious how many folks saw that whole conversion and are running a hybrid?
