Hello all,
I have been a member here now for a couple months, and I thought it was time for an introduction. My name is Lucas and I'm from St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A buddy of mine was selling his 99 XLT Explorer with a bad trans for cheap, so after paying $260 to get it out of the tow yard, I gave him $240 for it. Not too bad for a 500 dollar fixer-upper, (138k miles). He's put $1700 into it in two years with getting 1 new injector/gaskets, as well as having the upper and lower timing chain tensioners and jackshaft tensioner replaced.
I'm not new to forums, I have a degree in Network Administration so I'm constantly researching on the computer. I also have a Monte Carlo and am on forums for it that do not even come close to the amount of information on here.
Anyway, Just wanted to introduce myself and say Thanks for all the help so far. I have put in a used trans, replaced lower ball joints, soldered my overhead display, and changed fluid on the rear diff following write-ups on here.
