Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking for years and using lots of the info posted here on my 96 2WD V8 Explorer so I figured it's about time I register and provide some content as well.
I absolutely love my Explorer, her name is Beverly, and she was purchased by my dad in 99 with 36,000 miles at an auction. My parents kept every receipt and so have I since I bought her 1 year ago. To date, only $16,000 has been spent on all maintenance over the past 13 years and she now has 214,000 miles. I've driven Beverly as far north as Portland, OR and as far south as Puebla, Mexico. I think the 2nd generation Explorer is one of the most reliable vehicles ever made.
Unfortunately, while trying to be a good owner and get her to 300k I might have messed up while doing a transmission service last month and I think I ruined the torque converter but I'll post that in the appropriate forum.
