- 2016 Ford Explorer Sport
Hi everyone.
Ordered a 2016 Explorer Sport back in November and still awaiting arrival. Should be here next week, left Chicago on Feb 27th.
We ordered it in Magentic colour, added the sunroof, second row bucket seats
( have 3 kids, 2 still in car seats, 1 in booster.). We also added LED fog lights as recommended by our salesman.
For accessories
-roof cross bars and cargo mat from Ford.
-Weathertech floor mats
-took advantage of the winter tire/rim promotion as well.
I've also enquired about which tires come with it. I've read it could be Hankook Ventus or Optimo. I've read that the Ventus are quite good but the Optimo are crap! What do you guys have on your 2016's
This will be our first brand new car, always bought used. Thinking I'll change the factory oil at 5,000 km(3,000 miles) Then just follow oil life monitor.
Planning to keep for 8-10 years, then sell or give to my oldest son...who's only 6 right now lol. Not planning on the full synthetic oil as I'm sure the factory recommended stuff is fine. Think Ford said there stuff is semi synthetic.
Engine internals seem to out last everything else on the car nowadays. There are the turbo's but seems like the Ecoboost turbo's are quite durable.
Looking forward to it.
