Good Morning to All.

I stumbled across this site and after checking out your post for 2 days, decided I had to belong. I've already found so much useful information, so "Thank You" to those who have posted.

A week ago I bought a 1999 Explorer, Eddie Bauer Edition, 5.0, AWD, sunroof, power everything and fully loaded from a Public Auction in Woodbridge, Va. It has 145k miles on it but looks like it is brand new (I suspect it spent it's life garaged). I've had it checked over and everything looks good aside from a cracked EGR tube and a bad speed control switch at the mastercylinder. All this for $3400.00! I ended up giving away my '86 Ranger to my father-in-law as a project vehicle.

So if anyone gets a chance, would you let me know if there is anything I should be aware of with these vehicles. I'd like to work on performance and gas mileage issues so any suggestions are appreciated. I suspect I got a hellava deal on this vehicle and fall in love with it more everyday! I keep finding reasons to get out and drive when possible, and at other times my wife catches me standing at the back door staring at it . I think she's getting jealous.

Thanks again for a fantastic website!

welcome ken

Welcome to Explorer Forum!

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome. Any recommendations as to what I should be looking at in this site? Where's all the best information?

Useful threads?

Can someone tell me how to make a list of my favorite threads? I've come across a couple that were really helpful and I'd like to make a list for myself as well as others.

Take a post from this thread, erase what is written in it, then start to paste links from other threads in it. Use the hypertext box in the advanced reply option to make the link appear to be written in your own description. Post the link for that post in your signature using the hypertext box to make it appear in your own words.

Thanks

Thanks, I'll work on that. We'll see what I can do!

Welcome fellow Virginian :salute:... my family is in Charlottesville (UVA family) but I broke the mold and became a Hokie and now live in Colorado

You can also when you're in a thread you want to save click on Thread tools and select subscribe to thread. You can also copy the link, go into your User CP and paste it in the notepad.

I'm a former NY'er now living on the Chesapeake Bay. I've been down here since '92 and love it!

Thanks Mr. Jones! I will try that also. I can't believe how lucky I was to find this site. Everyone has been great. Thanks again.
