first time writing long time reading thank you all for all the knowledge..
ok I have a 2002 ford ranger xlt 3.0 recently lost my only chipped key a guy @
oreily auto said he could easily program a new chipped key for 80 bucks! When he came over to program the new key he tried several times and finally said you have a short or a bad ground because the pats is not communicating with the computer. I never had an issue before this so what did he do. Took it to the dealer they said the same thing not communicating? They said the oreily guy might have fried something but they said they could try to trace the problem. For no less than 500 to start that’s if they get really lucky In reality ( dealer said) prolly way more. can it b fixed or is a 5.0 the way to go? Or a boat anchor?
