I have a question maybe someone on here can help me with I have a 1998 Ford Explorer sport with a rough start when it's cold check engine light is on. It starts rough until it has a steady idle, it revs from 500 to 3000 and stutters like it wants to shut off. I have replaced the spark plugs and wires cleaned the throttle intake, replaced the engine coil box, and EGR valve. I'm think it could me the throttle positioning sensor. When it's warm it's fine runs fine has great pick up very strong engine just rough start it kinda sounds like my engine is choking can't figure out the problem, had the light checked read something about multiple cylinder miss fire, and upstream and down stream running lean. Replaced the O2 sensors as well still no improvement on that but I am getting better gas mileage. It has 88,000 miles on her I bought it with 86,000 I love my truck it's summer here now so it still rough starts I just want to fix it before winter gets here and its freezing she may not want to start at all. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.
