Welcome to this forum! Do you have any problems with your cruise control or ABS system? Check the VSS, and the TPS. Do you see your brake lights on all of the time? This is the code:
536
(O,R,M)
Brake On Off open or shorted to ground - BOO

I would check the brake switch first.

brake lights work fine .did lock-up test 55 mph tapped brakes rpm`s jump up about 50-100 rpm .cruise control & abs works fine .

KOEO, CM, or KOER 536? It's been a while, but I think you get a KOER 536 if you neglect to press the brake after engine id during the KOER test. (I know you get something, and 536 is the only three digit BOO code). I guess what I'm getting at is, if this is from the KOER test, make sure you are following the test procedure correctly before spending a lot of time chasing a nonexistent fault down.

If this is from the KOEO test, it might help to know if it's a KOEO code or a CM code or both.

KOER .Now the engine has a slight knock like the timming is off.? I replaced the EDIS still knockin .scanned, KOEO code 111 all good/KOER code 536 I replaced brake light switch .same code .cleared stored codes.

I would like to put a 700r4 in this explorer,I found an adapter kit.92 explorer 2x4 4.0 a4ld xlt.I'm also thinking 302&? trans.I'm sure it's been done.
