I joined the site in early July doing some research for installing door speakers.
I have a 2001 Explorer Sport (white, 4 x 2), which I lovingly refer to as "The Exploder". This is actually my 2nd 2001 Explorer Sport. I had a blue 4 x 2 with a 5-speed manual that I bought new in 2000, but I ended up wrapping it around a tree.
My Dad gave me this one about 3 months ago (it used to be my youngest sister's).
Nothing special...pretty much stock. Just under 121K miles. Body is pretty good. It's had some bodywork done, and it still has a small dent above the rear right tire, but probably nothing I'm going to spend the money to repair anytime soon. Interior has some Diet Coke stains on the carpet and seats, but I will eventually shampoo the interior. Overall, it cleaned up pretty well. Runs great, although I did have to replace the DPFE sensor so it would pass emissions. I look forward to gathering all sorts of info from the site in terms of maintenance, quirks, etc. I only had the blue one for about 8 months before I trashed it, so I didn't get to experience it too much.
Hopefully going to install all the speakers today.
