I was lucky enough to pick up a 1996 Ford Aerostar, former school fleet vehicle with 87,000 on the clock for next to nothing. It spent great deal of time in a school indoor garage with near zero rust anywhere on it. Minor rep[airs and an everyday commuter now. Worst thing is the gas milage but I can deal with that.
