Hi,

I am new to the Explorer forums although, i am not really new to Explorers. I currently have two of them. One is a 1996 Sport and the other is an 1997 4 door (SOHC)

These are fun rigs and i hope to learn more about them on these forums. I very probably won't be asking too many questions though as many of the subjects have been pretty much been discussed already. The search engine in my friend..

Thanks for the replies guys! I hope to utilize the vast wealth of information here on my explorers, as i really like these trucks! Although, i do tend to get a little depressed reading the endless trouble/problem posts as far as the transmissions are concerned. My 1996 sport has a bad transmission at 100,000 miles due to the bad slave cylinder and the prior owners refusal to replace the slave cylinder before hurting the transmission. (it pops out of first gear if the shifter isn't held and, it is really hard to shift) So, consequently, i have to replace it as well as the clutch and slave cylinder assy. My 1997 4 door has over 150,000 miles on it's SOHC/5R55 with no timing chain guide noise/transmission issues during my ownership since last April. I will be doing a band adjustment/fluid change in a week or so.
