I just bought my mother in law's 05 Ford Explorer XLT with 101,000 garage kept miles. The only thing I've done is rear brakes and put the optional 255/70/16 tires on it which are Cooper Discoverer AT3. I love those tires. I was also wondering if there is any common problems with that amount of miles I should be looking for.. Thank you in advance.

I've got the 4.0l sohc. It runs like a top just hard starts every once in awhile like I turn the key it tries to turn over and I stop and try again it turns right over and then runs fine.

Those engines have known issues with the timing chains & tensioner cassettes. Does it ever make a rattling noise?

No rattles as of yet lol.
